Gnomes, also known as leprechaun or dwarfs are a mythological creatures popular in local folklore, and their names describes the country of origin. 🎩
In the old Polish tradition they are known as protective household spirits, sent from God to ensure abundance. Oldest records appears in literature in the 15th and 16th centuries. Some people have their statues in their garden :) ( Currently, the garden gnome often represents a symbol of kitsch and the aesthetics of the ‘90s. – but I always look at them with some kind of esteem).
This little guy is my first ever painted and I can’t wait to make more. Painted for upcoming St. Patrick’s Day (Lá Fhéile Pádraig) who is very important in Ireland. 🍀
Keep him on a shelf nearby. Happiness and good luck will be still by your side with your friendly Gnome!
Illustration measures 3x3 inches and comes hand signed and framed. Biodegradable glitter and gemstone embellish available for free (please add a note in your basket).
